Someone had added a factory changer in my Z06 and the cable has been T-tapped into the factory harness behind the radio.. well I unplugged the T-taps and now I don't know which wires go to which to plug them back in...can anyone help or do I need to take pics etc ?
see the tech tip on installing a factory CD Changer in a '97 to '99, it should help you out.
the only difference is that it's supposed to be spliced into the fuse box in the passenger footwell, not behind the radio.
My changer harness/cable doesnt have the connectors so they hard-wired it behind the cd player. The t-taps into the radio harness are still there and the male connectors are stil on the changer harness. There's 6 connectors I think to individual wires..just trying to figure out which colors on the changer harness go to which colors on the factory radio harness.

ok...
on an "un-cut" changer harness you have 2 connectors. on one connector you have the positive and negative audio inputs, left and right (4 wires total), that connector is called the "4 wire" connector, the other connector has power, ground and data (3 wires total) and it's called the "3 wire" connector.
all '97 to '99 C5's have the "4 wire" connector in the passenger footwell, it's the "3 wire" connector that is usually missing.
the easiest way to hook up the changer harness is to plug the harness into the existing "4 wire" plug in the passenger footwell and hardwire the power, ground and data wires behind the fuse panel in the footwell.
BUT, since someone hacked up your harness and decided to do it "the hard way" you will need to get the color codes for the wires in the harness, you may want to invest in getting a service manual for your car, it has the wiring diagrams in it.
maybe my description of the wires can help you in some way.......
