I'm currently running kicker 04ssmb8 and Eclipse sp8944 (4") in the doors.
Can anyone recommend an appropriate Focal set to replace them? I'd prefer not to do a 2-way or 3-way Focal setup.
I am a little confused .. guessing that the Eclipse is a coaxial? And you are just looking to replace what you have with something from Focal? What is running the speakers currently? Factory or aftermarket HU? Stock wiring or replaced? Self installed or shop installed?
Not sure that Focal has a good drop in replacement option for you outside of a single 6.5" coaxial speaker ... you effectively have a 3 way setup upfront right now with the 8's playing midbass and a single point source for your mids and tweets (coaxial) from your 4".Help us help you.

Thanks for the response.
My setup currently is an AVIC N1 HU, and a 4 channel amp (Kicker competition). Everything was installed professionally. Everything is coaxial in the door.
Given what you mentioned, would a 3 way setup from Focal be the way to go? If so, which one would fit easily, and is it a difficult or long job for the shop to change?

Depends on what your goal here is. With those 8's in your doors there's not really a Focal system out there that will give you the same lower bass frequencies and still fit in the doors. If you're running a sub already then it's not really a problem, but otherwise you're likely going to be disappointed by switching to a tradional 3 way setup.
As far as Focal 3 ways go, the 165V3E is a nice smooth sounding set of speakers. If you want to step up to their Kevlar line (if you like alot of punch and lively sound, they're for you) doesn't have a traditional 3 way, but they do sell a 165KBE "bass extender" driver that you can use to make their Kevlar 2-ways into a 3 way setup.
Doing a 3 way wouldn't be difficult in the car. They'd have to fab a mounting plate where they'd put the 6.5 midbass and 3.5 midrange, then probably mount the tweet in the door pull.
Something to consider if you're not running a sub and don't want to would be the Dynaudio 2-ways with the 8" midbass driver. Not sure about fitment in the C5 but since the Kicker is in there it would probably work and would maintain some of the lower midbass frequencies for you.
From: ECS : WTF did you break now and HTF did you break it this time
shermon I see you snuck over to the audio end of the forum...
I have the kevlar 100KP component set (4 inch an tweet) and the 165KBE bass extension kit....you have to bring your ipod/cd's and sit an demo em, I'll kill the sub for you an let you blast it away...
Jay's car is nice but his utopia 3 ways are out of production for years and damn near impossible to find, to the point I gave up. Of course his zapco amps blow away my JL amps....but the JL ain exactly bad.
honestly if we can fidn a way to fit a second amp in there I don't think my stealthbox would kill cargo area for you, besides that'd motivate me to get one of the 12's in my hatch and really get some boom where I need it.

I dont' trust you!!
Plus, I've been looking at all the Focal choices, and I'm totally confused. I can't tell what's legit, and what's not.
Jay gave me a good choice, so I may end up going with that one. The guys in this section are very knowledgable.

as stated above, here is my setup up front on the 3 way....100kp and 165KBE as KOKO stated: The speakers are well worth it, and they absolutely rock. EDEAD on the doors.
