The Alpine MP3 deck comes with a virtual sound processor in it which is extremely valuble. I'd get nothing but Alpine or Eclipse (if eclipse made a mp3 player) And can use XM radio

The degree of sound control it gives you is essentially equivalent to having an Alpine PRA-H400 signal processor built in. It will also play the MP3 tracks you've burned onto a CD-R or RW disc—all 12 hours worth! DHE processing enhances the MP3 sound to the digital quality you're used to.

I have a Z828 in my ZR-1, along with a full DIN Kenwood EQ, and I love it. But I've been waiting for Alpine to come out w/ an MP3 compatible player for my Mustang, since it already has an old Alpine HU/ EQ/ changer.

FYI I picked up my Alpine 7878 for $560 on Ebay from Bestcarstereo.com. It just arrived yesterday. New in the box as advertised. It took them about a week to send the tracking number but they had actually shipped about two biz days after purchase.

I wound up buying everything from http://www.cbrstereo.com. They had the best prices of all the web sites I found.
I ordered yesterday and within hours got my UPS tracking number. So far, I'm impressed with the service. The equipment should be here tomorrow.

Wow, those prices are very nice, i might by another set of spears for the rear deck later from them. What unit did you end up ordering? don't forget to pick up speakers while you're at it. (Get the focals 165k2) http://www.euro-watt.com has better prices than these guys by about 40. :)

I wound up with something completely different than what I thought I would buy. I bought the Fosgate RFX-9300 and the FNQ-2614 6.5" component set.
I saw the speakers for $399 at Ultimate Electronics today, I had no idea the markup was so much. I bought them for $189. :D

I too got JVC SH-99 great, and it also has an input jack for my Jukebox.
only thing it is silver doesn't really match the interior black. But great. I strongly suggest it to anyone who is thinking about it. But you might have to get new speaker for it cause it the bose speakers have its own amp... don't really understand it but just heard it wasn't going to work. so I just went and got new Polks and an amp and subs. Sounds amazing.
