Default C5 Bose Base problems, need HELP!

I have a 99 with the Bose single CD and factory speakers. Until recently, I had no problem with getting great Base from the system. Now I can only get marginal base. I have plenty of Treble though. Is there a amplifier that could have blown? Can a fuse be blown? Of course I don't have much knowledge in this. The dealer says there is no problem. But I know I had better thumping in the Base. If there is a amp, could it be under the dash or by the fuses? Or could it be the radio? This is driving me crazy. I still have 2 months of extended warrenty left and want to get it fixed. Someone can help, PLEASE? Thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear you are having problems, bro.

The Bose amplifiers are located in the doors, right inside the speaker pod. They have been known to fail, and it is very possible that it is case in your situation.

You might be able to have your amps repaired, but I'd bet it is easier to just replace them. A lot of guys pull the stock system for an aftermarket system, and have their old Bose speakers/amps on a shelf. (I know I still do... I'm too lazy to list them for sale.)

You see them listed every so often... but it might be easier to post a WTB (want to buy) thread. You can get a set for about $50-100, I'd guess.

I would upgrade to an aftermarket system... but that's just me. Hope this helps.

If you intend to keep the bose system, look on the C5 FS section. Also check ebay. you may do better just getting the entire front speaker section instead of just the amp.
