Default Another Navigation Question / HUD

OK Guys,
I've done a search for the answer to this question but didn't find one.

I've been having trouble finding a loaded LBM Vert lately. I have worked with several dealers doing searches and I'm fairly close to buying one from a CF Dealer. Unfortunately it has the Bose CD Changer and not NAV.

One thing I really like on the NAV is the HUD integration. So the question is: If I buy a Nav unit & antenna from eBay or someplace else, once I plug everything in will it display the directions on the HUD?

Of course, while I'm considering this, I'm also looking at the Pioneer D3 and Z2 unit and trying to decide if it is worth the hassle, cost and installation work to put one of those in and still not have the HUD directions.

I have the factory NAV unit and will be pulling it, probably later this summer. Once you've used a decent NAV system, the factory NAV makes you crazy. Aftermarket NAVs are better & cheaper. They have better options like iPod interfaces and Bluetooth phone interfaces and they SOUND better.

I gave in to the siren song of HUD integration when I ordered my '06. While still a very high cool geek factor.. ain't worth the lousy radio that drives it.

Nobody has tried to figure out how to connect the HUD to the Navigation? Or is the factory NAV the brains of the HUD nav display. I thought the display on the HUD had a "brain" with the appropriate strings and just needed to be "called" by a navigation unit.... if any of what I said makes sense at all anyhow lol

i honestly do not know if you but a factory nav unit in your non nav car if it will integrate with the HUD, but i can tell you an aftermarket unit will work 1000x better then the stock one. my personal recommendation is dnx7100

Mudbone, you are referring to the factory nav I'm assuming.
