Looking at the image of the area where the old head unit used to go, I have a few questions.
1. Is there just the 1 multiplug that plugs into the rear of the old head unit.?
I have the 2004, and have the DELCO head unit, without cd changer, but i have an amp in the trunk, on the drivers side,
back to the multi-plug, does that carry all the switched power, permanent power, antenna, display lights, aswell as the all the speakers?
Is there any different head units that were fitted, I read some where that there are BOSE head units fitted,
I only have BOSE speakers.
So many questions
Thanks guy's

Yes, you can buy an after market wiring harness that plugs into your stock wiring to be able to connect an after market head unit. It will not have the wire that is necessary to turn on your head unit when you switch on the ignition, so you will need to run a separate wire down into the kick panel. The cost for the adapter is about $8 US.

If you want to retain the Bose speakers, you will need a Soundgate GMCRV1 adapter INSTEAD of the adapter above. It will cost you about $100 US.

Instead of keeping the Bose, I would recommend replacing your front speakers with a nice set of 6.5 co-axial speakers. If you plan on using an amplifier, then go with a set of 6.5 components. You will need a set of adapter plates to mount in the door in place of the Boss speaker. Looks like this:
Then you can install the component speakers:
All of this and more is in the FAQ:
