Hello,
My 96 Collector Edition has static only when the radio is played not during CD. I think it is related to some other odd things. The automatic garage door remote won't work when the the car is running. Also when the car is running in the driveway all of our TV's that are on show static. We use a standard antenna, no cable TV. It must all have to do with the car generating some kind of RF. I'm thinking the ignition system or maybe the passive remote entry system. I just recently bought it with 102,000 miles. My first Vette! The remote does not work, but it's in ruff shape so I don't think it's the system that's failing. I'm looking for a good deal on a remote. I know, e-bay, but it's always $100.00 or more. When I get one I should be able to see if that system works. Any ideas on cause/fix?

I put tin foil wrapped behind the distributor cap and around the distributor and had a metal shield to go around my CD player to keep radio interference out. Also got sillicone spark plug wires(taylor) which are suppose to help on the radio interference. This solved MY** problem and may help yours. Goodluck.
