Gm Radio Buttons

So I my wife drives a Tahoe and we have noticed all are friends that have them have trouble with the radio buttons. The paint rubs off on the volume button and the 1-6 memory buttons. (Tahoes 2003-2006) This has not happened to my wife's tahoe yet, but I am preparing for the future.
Is it possible to replace these buttons?

My girlfriend's grand am has the same problem (2003), and as far as i know youd have to replace the head unless you are very clever at dismantling the unit. But im sure it can be done...

Unfortunately that is what I thought to......
Right now we are trying to be gentle with the buttons so they don't where off. It is a shame GM has little things like that go wrong with their cars/trucks.

There is a place (google corvette stereo....?) that specializes in servicing Vette and GM head units.....not cheap I'm sure but doable
