Does anyone out there have any pics of an aftermarket stereo install on a 1993? I am running into width problems and the trim around the new receiver. Thanks
and the dash isn't going to effect your install one bit. no speakers go there, and the hole, tho a little different, isn't going to effect install one iota.
the trim ring from the receiver is wider then the hole in the dash panel...can you send me some pics of your install?
Discard the trim ring. You'll have to make a bracketing system yourself, (all the commercial models I've seen were lousy) but the final result will be that only the nose of the head unit poking through. In this case, I temporarily glued a small piece of textured ABS to the back of the dash panel so something covered the hole. The HU is a basement-level Alpine I installed just to sell the car. Also, the whole dash pad can be removed and somewhat large tweeters installed in the corners. Then you can modify the door panels to get rather large mids/midbasses in the doors.
