MP3 playback problems !!

DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE THESE PROBLEMS????

stock nav /mp3 unit...

i burn about 100 Mp3 songs to a dvd.
about 10 songs in it starts repeating the previous song when i press the arrow button.

it will go a few more songs normal and repeat the same track 3 times so i have to keep hitting the next arrow.. and this pattern repeats through the whole disk so i dont hear all my songs and the list of songs is not the same as whats beiing played...

i KNOW this is a VERY complex problem could be anything from the head unit
to the software beiing used or combo of all.

im burning at 196k W short names, sound is ok, normal CD's ok,
this is just mp3 disks. i have same problem with different combo of encoding rates and media..

so, im not lookin for trouble shooting tips as this could never end. rather,
id liek to know if anyone else had similar problems, and what you did to fix them..

thanks in advance for any help.
i can only imagine what i night mare this would be to take to the dealer.
there are so many places to place the blame for the problem

BTW: mine is a NEW 07"

I could never get an mp3 disc to play on my stock nav/head unit. In the end, I put an aftermarket radio in. Needless to say, I was quite disgusted with the money and quality of the stock navigation unit.

i use maxell dvd rw disks...

slower speed??? my cd burner is only 8x and that takes awhile as it is...
or what did you mean?? thanks!!

Maybe 4x? There should be a setting in the software that you use to burn the CD. It could be that you are using RW, maybe try plain -R or + R. Some players are very picky. But I'm going by the experience in the C5... have no idea what a C6 system even sounds like

I have an 07 coupe with Nav and it has the SAME EXACT problems. I played the same mp3 discs in my 05 with the Nav unit without any issues, so this HAS to be a software problem in the 07 Nav unit.

Coincidentally, I received a call from Chevy yesterday asking if I have any issues with the car and I told them about this. They said they had a couple of other owners complain about the same thing this week and said will get back to me via email.

My car was built on 5/16/07. When was yours built?

Not really familiar with the C6 heads bu the first thing that comes to mind is the directory list is too long. Try burning a disc with 50 songs and see if it does the same thing.

I've also read that having long file names will do this. I *think* it was files with more than 30 characters? I'm not totally sure about that number though.
