The Punch subs i saw at Best Buy (P2s i believe) were in a ported box and had huge excursion capabilities. Could clearly hear them across the store. They need to be properly powered though to achieve this and ported boxes in a vette require some nifty designing/building skilz.
Personally, I'm not a fan of kicker based on the setups I've heard, BUT most of the people who've had these setups were noobs in the audio world and had ....well odd setups.
maybe the question should be this...I have built a box that goes behind the seat, will house two twelve inch subs, and takes up about half of my zo6's trunk. Any reccomendations as to which subs to use to achieve great deep sounding bass?
Still not enough information. The volume of the enclosure has to be known, also the meaning of "deep-sounding bass." The type of music you listen to is important too.
Since you're attempting this yourself, a little reading might go a long way. Many of the equations you need to do this successfully are in this book http://www.audioxpress.com/bksprods/products/bkmh27.htm and knowing the basics will save you a ton of heartache and lots of cash.
well I went onto the fosgate website and based on there info, my box is 4.41 cubic feet. also, I listen mostly to rap and some r&b. thx for any help offered, i am thinking I would need some woofers that were made for the smaller enclosure boxes.
A box of that size could easily be ported to achieve excellent low frequency response. You can also go the extra mile and dis-assemble it and re build it to tune for a specific frequency range if you want.

I might be wrong, but I would think you could fit two 15's in a box that big.
Either way, your system will slap if you have 1. a quality high power amp and 2. quality woofers
Im not an audio guru like most of these guys here that have there systems fully tuned to frquencies,db's,etc, etc. I just know basic stuff and im happy for now with my bose system with some bass in the back. So it's pretty basic for me. But I have learned that if you buy cheap crap, you will regret it.
I have a zapco 1000 watt amp that was pretty hefty in price ($700-800) but I got a great deal on it and I just picked up the Rockford P3 15" on ebay for about $105 shipped! and my box was built by a carpenter and im completely satisifed with my bass.
Your'e not to far from me, if you're ever in stockton/lodi area let me know and you can check it out for yourself.
Don't just throw the biggest sub you can into the box. Honestly, if you follow 97c5's directions, you may like it. There's just as much chance you'll hate it. If you're inclined to just stick a driver in there, you can't predict the results. Huge power and large drivers guarantee nothing. Learn a little about how this stuff works or go to someone who knows what he's doing.
what I a leaning towards is a kicker amp rated at around 1000 watts and a pair of the kicker 12 inch L7 solobarics
A pair of L7 12's require a bit more power than 1000 Watts really. Say 1500W RMS would be better.
However, again, power handling is also a function on the box. I would double check your measurements. 4.4cuft is a large box in a C5 and would require the whole trunk in a FRC car, not just half.
We'd love to help you, but I think it might be best to get an opinion of the nearest qualified retailer to help you make a decision. And I don't mean BB or CC either.

well i was giving an opinion based on what i thought he was looking for. and the only requirement he gave was "deep long bass". and the fact that the box is over 4 cubic feet was also in indication to me that he plans to put some massive woofers in there.
