It's pretty cool... I'd rather have the new cadence 5 channel, though it has less oontz on the sub channel... it can be had for roughly half the price, and isn't 2 feet long.
What is your experience with these, Have you used them before? If you have, how do you like em?
Haven't had one before, but they've been a running 'forum boner' on a few car audio forums I frequent for several years now. And with the short attention span these people have, it says a lot.
That NINe.5 is definitely an interesting piece. What I found of particular interest is that it's a hybrid amp. The front/rear channels are class A/B while the sub channel is class D. Smart design and I'll be interested in hearing opinions of anyone that might grab one.

Worst active XO I ever laid my hands on. Amps are big power in a small chassis, with zero refinement. There are obvious physical limitations that come with amp designs. You can't have big power, small footprint and good sound. There are reasons that amps like Xtant, Zapco, eD (no personal experience yet, but well-reviewed), etc. aren't in small chassis but are still regarded among the best sound. You have to also recognize that on top of all these things, Cadence is inexpensive to boot. That make it all but certain that compromises were made. There's no free lunch. Some things simply can't be overcome. The Alpine PDX series is another excellent example. Great power in an unbelievably small package, but after a little time with one, it's not among the best in sound.
I'm not saying Cadence doesn't have their place in the food chain, but they're not near the top either.
PDX uses ICE which supposedly has the lowest amount of distortion. But that's what Bang Olufson says. Not exactly impartial. I went from ARC amps to PDX, and I have to say I didn't notice a quality difference, but my stage did seem to get a little ...smaller.
So you are not in Richard Clarks school of thought then, I assume?
Please keep in mind that us normal mortals can't hear the subtle differences between say, a Zapco and Hifonics amp. - Noise floor aside.

Interesting question/point. We'd need another thread.
