Default Cadence Amplifiers

Does anyone have any input on the quality/ $$$ of the cadence amplifiers? I was looking at these listed in their outlet store:

http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductC...idCategory=125

I've got an '80 C3 running an older Alpine head unit that the previous owner installed along with some Focal components in the front door/dash. I believe the alpine puts out around 40 watts per channel. I've also got some cheap Best Buy $65 6 x 9 's in the back. I'm definitely leaning towards changing them out.

What do you guys think?

Thanks

Everyone I know that has used them swears by them, but I know there's at least one person with some very negative experiences with them around here.

I wouldn't worry too much about the 6x9's out back, but adding an outboard amp would definitely help get the most out of the Focal components. Rear speakers are just for fill, your soundstage comes out of the front primarily. I don't have any personal experience with Cadence, but that person Kale is referring to is a very good friend of mine who's experience I trust. However I always keep in mind that it's what sounds good to the listener that matters.

Well, specs alone are not the final arbiter of good sound or I would not be thinking of dropping $800 on a 19-year old used RF Power 650. In the end, your own ears certainly are the ultimate judge as Komoman says, but you can filter out a lot of garbage that will simply waste your time and money. When all is said and done, my preferences and standards are not the same as others, so you decide. IMO, Cadence has positioned themselves as something considerably less than high end based on their marketing and choices regarding what specs they publish. They still might sound just fine to others.

Guys, thanks for all of the information. I'll have to wait and see which way I go.
