Hi
You have a switch in the cassette housing that goes bad some times, when the cass is in, the switch is up, when the cassette is out, the switch suppost to go down, the switch mute the radio so you can hear the cassette, hope you understand what i am saying, we work this problem all the time.
Hope this help you.
Thanks for the info. It makes sense. Is switch this something I can fix or do I need to have someone work on the unit? Does the unit need to be removed and disassembled? Any estimate on cost? Thanks for your help on this.
