This is crazy! C5 bass problem
I just bought another C5 and it had a Kenwood kcd-112p installed in it. Whoever installed it, seemed to do it correctly and didn't cut any wires and used wiring adaptors. Well, I bought a stock head unit and installed it because I wanted to get the 12 disk back working and also use the tape drive to run my ipod. Here's the crazy part....with the Kenwood, I have bass...with the stock unit, no bass...everything else works great on the stock unit, but no bass. My first thought was 'well, must be a bad head unit' so I got another one....and the same thing! No bass!
I put the kenwood back in and had bass. Does anyone have any idea what would cause this??

more than likely the stock head unit just doesn't pump out the bass like an aftermarket head unit.
IMO I'd reccomend getting an aftermarket CD changer to match your kenwood rather than going back to the stock setup.

I'm guessing they changed the speakers when they put in the Kenwood head. Remember, the stock head uses amps at the speakers for base. You probably don't have those now.
