I've seen the JL Stealthbox for the C6s, but they only come with the 10" I had the Stealthbox in my C5 and was left wanting a little more. Just seeing if anything is available yet
Well not yet – but if plans hold up, I’ll have a new 12W7 in my hands this Saturday. The sealed box I plan to build will be at spec volume but with increased width and reduced height as not to obstruct any vision looking through the back from up front. (i.e. via rear view mirror). I ran a JL 12W3 in my C5 and it was decent quality for me.
Are you going to install it yourself? Or are you gonna have a shop do it?
I will do my own install. I'm not a pro but this project should not be too difficult (as I am not building a show system nor planning to have any glass work). I installed my C5 system and it was very clean, stealth and sounded tight. I miss the center storage area - ideal for a sub.
The new sub will be housed in a simple sealed ¾” side walls and 1 ½” baffle mdf enclosure. I have not yet designed the amp rack. I have mq quarts qm’s for the doors with modest power from JL 500.1 and JL300.2 amps. I am basically after a clean good sounding system. If I had tons to blow or had a complex system, I would probably turn to a custom install shop.
I understand. I was thinking the same thing, but I think it's just that I'm still not yet over the excitment I have when I think of the car I've waited 21 years for.
When it passes, I'll do my own install as well. I did my own for the eclipse, and it came out well.
