What wiring would I access to install an amplified subwoofer in my 07 with the base stereo system ?
What ohms speaker would be compatible ?
Anyone tried this ?

If you're installing an amplified sub then the ohms don't matter - ohms only matter when you're pairing it up with a separate amplifier.
A lot of people take the easy way out and tap the rear speakers and use a line level converter(many self-amplified subs come with the converter on-board). But for the best result you should take advantage of the fact that there is line level signal available at the back of the C6 head unit in the wiring harness. Here's a link to a write-up I did on how to get the signal:

My system is not a Bose .
Are there crossovers built into this base system ?

Both systems (Bose and non-Bose) have outboard amplifiers and both have a crossover network integrated into them. The Bose rear speakers are mono but the non-Bose is stereo, so that's certainly something to take into consideration. I do not know if the rear channels are crossed over on either system. I consider tapping the signal at the speaker level to be a lousy way of doing it (noisy signal source regardless of crossover) so it's not anything I would bother finding out.
Tapping the low-level output at the head unit (or down by the amp in the passenger footwell if you trace the wiring) is the same regardless of which system and head unit you have.
