Added AVIC Z2 now remote entry won't work

I just changed out the Bose system completely and added an AVIC Z2 NAV unit. HU works great. I found the key fob no longer works to lock or unlock doors or do anything else. Anyone know if the car needs the Bose system to work or something? Is it something totally unrelated and I should look elsewhere beside the audio change out causing this? Thanks.

check your battery. If its the original it might be time to change out!

Tried that. Tried the other remote. Are we saying ordinarily when you take the Bose system out there should be no problem with the remotes/entry? I have a window valet also and like to use that.

The FOBs may just need to be reprogrammed. Its not a big deal to do, you can find the instructions on the forum. I've had to do that after disco'ing the batt B4.

Standing on the driver's side, hold both the lock and unlock buttons on the fob until you hear the horn blow once. That'll probably do it.

Excellent. Never thought about the battery being off for more than a week due to backordered parts.

Figured it out. Was the battery being out and the fobs were not synced. Held both lock and unlock by drivers door as suggested and all is well now. Thanks to the Forum!!
