Static in my Alpine?

Static in my Alpine?

I get all stations, but static mostly all the time. When I use the Cd, everything is perfect. Any info on what could cause constant static with the radio playing? Thanks

Bad antenna wire.
Bad ground.
Powerful ignition system.

All kinds of things, bro.

Simple check might be to buy a cheap replacement antenna and plug it into the HU. Static clears up, and you know you got a bum antenna lead or mast.

Have you tried a noise supressor/filter yet? That might fix your problem.

Just put my C4 away for the winter, but I will have it out a few days a month if sunny and clear roads. Will check then

Oh this is a c4 you will need a noise supressor on the unswitched power line for the radio. You can purchase one at radio shack.
