C4 Navigation -What Fits
For a 1996 LT1:
I presently have a single DIN head unit with a custom faceplate made by a form member. I want to upgrade, if possible, to a double DIN head unit with touch screen navigation.
When I check with major vendors none of them list a double DIN unit as being able to fit, but a forum member has installed what is apparently a double DIN Eclipse HU with navigation.
When I measure the opening in the console face (it is less than 4 x 7) and the cavity in back of the face it appears to be too small for a double DIN without some significant modifications, both to the console face and perhaps the cavity area.
I know that there are single DIN units that will fit, but are there any doubles that fill the bill?
