sub in rear center compartment
I have installed an amp running off of the low level outputs on the stock HU (thanks, 99HT) and a sub in the rear center compartment. It sounds much better than stock, but the compartment needs to be tighter so less air will escape. At certain frequencies it has a bad vibration. Any ideas on how to fix the lid tighter to the compartment? I think someone previously had mentioned fabricating another lid and securing it some other way (trying to keep costs to a minimum).

Sealed box or plate mount only. If it's sealed then you can build up the lower and side portions with carpet or even duct tape to make a good insulation/noise reducer. If it's a plate mount try two way auto motive/autobody trim tape to seal the plate to the well. Good luck :cheers:

You might try mounting a backing a large aluminum backing plate between the speaker and cover. It will stiffen up the cover and increase it's mass. You will need to make it smaller than the cover and then fasten it around the perimeter.

I'd just build a little fiberglass box w/ an MDF Baffle to fit in the well. You don't have a tight seal, so you are cancelling out your valuable bass.
