Yes, I love winter here. It brings temperatures down from hellish to slightly toasty.
Just curious, Is there any distinctive acoustic advantage to mounting a sub inverted or is that purely asthetic?

There's no real difference unless the sub has a noisy motor and/or suspension (most cheap high xmax models). In that case there will be some strange noises at mid/high volume.
