Just got my system installed by Dave Hale - www.corvettecaraudio.com this week. Lets just say Dave is the man when it comes to professional installs. No trashing of the car to install components. Used factory holes and everything tucked away. As for the DNX HU it rocks - takes a few minutes to figure out but is worth every penny. The Garmin Nav blow the Pioneer system out the door ( I also have a D2 and Z1 - which you may find me selling and putting in DNX's) Ipod hookup also blows Pioneer away. Unit will also accept either XM and Sirus - I did the Sirus for my NASCAR fix) Great unit for less than a Grand on the internet. The Focal speakers also are awesome. K2P's in the doors and 5.25's behind the seat. We used a 350-4 Kicker amp and Kicker Sub amp for the 10" in the trunk. Dave fabricated a sub box for my convertible so that it is in the drivers side of the trunk. Unfortunately the weather has been crappy so the fiberglass didn't setup quick enough to get that part of the install completed. What I saw though it is going to look awesome with still trunk space for traveling. They also built an amp rack under the convertible cover area to conseal everything - can't tell there is anything there - perfect carpet match. You can go to www.myvettepage.com and see some of the install - under newest pictures. I will try to post some pic.s ASAP
I was looking at the AVIC-Z2. Why is the kenwood better? am I missing something? The Pioneer has a 30gb HD, 7" Touch Screen, Voice Navigation, etc...??? Multiple driving views... looks like the Kenwood looks like GM's factory nav???

the picture there on the main page is the stock nav. not sure if you have to log in to see more pics or not.
The pioneer nav seems to want to take me on long routes than the quick way $2100 for pineer and $1200 for DNX. Lot of extra money for hard drive when you can use Ipod and achieve same concept. If the CD doesn't have info written on it then all songs are downloaded as tracks 1- whatever and then you don't know what song is which with 20-30 --track 1 songs. The Ipod interface is horrible. Hard to override safety to use nav without stopping car completely. DNX just has so much more to offer with Garmin Nav, but then again this is all personal opinion.
Got sub install and is awesome. Plenty of room left in trunk and sound is great in driving compartment. Kicker amp allows quick adjustment to provide sound quality. Will post pics ASAP. Check out pic at myvettepage.com for some install preview. Thanks again to Audio Dave.
