Default Is this right?

OK so from reading the FAQ and asking a couple of questions recently I have come up with the following:
HU 12v - Direct from battery
HU Acc - Orange wire pass side floor
HU Illumination - HVAC harness
Amps 12 - Direct from battery (Own Line using 4g)
Amp Turn on - Orange Pass side floor
Common ground - Pass seat bolt

Assumeing that all this is true, then there are no wires left to use on the GM wireing harnes plug that came with my HU from Crutchfield.
So is it all right to leave the factory harness unplugged and tucked away behind the dash, or is there some reason a plug needs to be in it to complete some circuit I am not aware of?

Thanks for the help

Steve

Ok well if you are running amps and new wiring for your speakers which it sounds liek you are then you almost dont need the gm harness.

First off for +12v for the radio is in that harness and it does work, but you could also pick it up where at the 3 wire harness by the fusebox where you are getting HU acc wire from its right in the bundle as well as a ground for your radio you can use. There is no point in running 12volt for radio straight to the battery.

Illumination is hvac harness

Amp turn on needs to go to the radio remote wire

The harness doesnt need to be plugged into complete a circuit or anything. If you have a coupe or vert you need to power the antenna though and that is in that harness to an extent. Coupes you need to do a little more work for the antenna amp

Thanks for the reply Penavolvo -
I am installing in a coupe, so could you explain in more detail about the ant amp?
As for everything else, I have decided to use the harness, mainly because I have it, and have already done the wiring joining it to the HU harness - only going to use the 12volt and turn on like you suggested. I plan on grounding the radio to the bolt next to the ignition key on the dash and the amps will be ground to the pass seat bolt. I will pickup the Acc down at the three wire harness in the foot-well (HU & Amps), but don't see a need to run the ground there as well, unless you can give me a reason too. I have read some of your other post, and seen some of your posted work (Nice) so any advice you can give will be much appreciated.

Thanks again,
Merry Christmas!

Id just as soon use the ground in the harness no need to ground to the frame unless u have a convenient and easy spot

As far as remote wire it shouldnt tie into the harness at all it should go from radio straight to amp

Acc comes down at footwell

Ground amp to seat bolt, make sure you get that bolt nice and tight

I will pickup the Acc down at the three wire harness in the foot-well (HU & Amps)
what do you mean by and amps, amps need a run straight from the battery for power
