2 way radio
I am looking to purchase a 2 way radio to travel with other Vetts. I think it is an frc radio. Please advise if you have any information on the model to purchase and ect. Thanks

FRS stands for Family Radio Service. These radios have a range of up to two miles and operate on the Citizens Band frequencies. In general, all the brands work with one another. The main difference is whether or not the radio has the Continuous Tone Coded Squelch System (CTCSS). This is like 38 subchannels. Be sure to get a radio with this feature. If not, your radio won't be able to communicate with another that is using the feature. Different radios may have different features, such as scan and rechargable batteries. I would suggest sticking to a brand name. I have Uniden radios that work fine, and two cost less than $100 a year ago.
