Default Yet another 2008 C6 navigation question

I have searched but can't find the answer.

I am ordering a 2008 C6 coupe, with museum delivery for April. I am getting the 3LT with HUD so I was going to get the factory Navigation so that it will work with it but I am now thinking that the HUD is not enough to offset the quality of music, bluetooth, ipod link, better navigation of the aftermarket navigation systems.

So the question is, if I am ordering a new 08, should I get the base stereo with the plan of upgrading to the Kenwood DNX-7100 or do I need the Navigation setup to have the space available on the dash?

I don't want to pay for the factory nav, if I am just going to pull it, but I don't want to buy a new center console either.

Thanks,
Mike

The dash is the same regardless of which stereo you order. I ordered my 2006 vert with NAV for the HUD integration and have since come to the conclusion you're beginning to... it isn't enough of an offset to overcome the limitations of the factory NAV. Come the spring I'll be replacing it with the Alpine IVA-W205(I have one in my truck as well and you can move the dockable portable NAV between the cars).

You'll need to get a Metra 95-3304 install kit when it comes time to install an aftermarket NAV. The 95-3304 comes with the typical pebbled surface, but can be sanded and buffed out to match up with the factory pieces pretty well.

Best of luck with the upcoming C6!

Thanks, that's what I thought.
