This is a highly-debated topic. Opinions range from rear coaxes at full volume to smaller rear components to no rear speakers at all. My own opinion has changed over time as to what I think is the best route.

The best thing you can do is listen for a while without rear speakers and decide if it's something you miss. If it is, you can go several different ways.

Just get something that doesn't sound bad and run it off of head unit power.

Youaren't really going to get any midbass out of them, because the rear speaker locations are terrible.

6.5s fit fine.

I just reinstalled 5.25 rears in my Z06. I was given that same advice and after giving it about eight months, I decided that I missed the "fill" in the rear. Kind of wished I did it in the beginning but my installer talked me out of it. Spent the past weekend redoing all his work and spent a little more money than I would have if I did it all at the same time...

Get two amps invest in the alpine meadia manager system and then you can turn them off and on when you want. I put 5 1/4 components in the back and turn them off and on with the media manager and the difference is amazing plus with the manger you can delay all of the speakers to match perfectly. Good luck

Hi, currently I am pursuing another career change by going to school, but if you want something like a stealth or hangover box made for a specific sub, give me a shout. Due to school starting up, I just will not have the time at present for custom made boxes that require separate calculations from the Stealth and Hangover boxes.
