Steering wheel controls on a 2LT??
So what is needed to do it?
I and not wiring to a stock set up, and the pioneer steering wheel interface is a direct plug into the D3
You also have to remember the demographic for NEW Vettes, of which you are not typcial!
It's dominated by empty nesters who are re-entering the sports car market now that the kids are gone. This isn't a demographic that's likely willing to hack up their steering wheel. It's when they become used cars, lease turn-ins, where the price is down and younger guys get their hands on 'em is when you'll start to see that stuff. I'm not an empty-nester, but steering wheel controls just aren't important enough to me to bother when the stereo is about 6" from my hand on the wheel. Don't think you're gonna find much help here... maybe contact Gene Culley @ GMPartshouse.com and see if he can dig up component pieces for you. And if you're going to tackle this and other projects along these lines, get yourself a set of service manuals, they're invaluable when you start diggging in. Good luck!

I actually called up a local junk yard, and the guy has a nice wrecked one on the lot.......and it has the controls. The airbag has been deployed, so i may be able to work a deal...........it also has HUD, which I may even take, and try to make my own of that.
as for the controls, they are really only that new in vettes? My SS had them, and I actually loved them (first car with it)
my search will continue....
