Default Steering wheel controls on a 2LT??

has anyone integrated steering wheel controls on a none 3LT? This is one thing that I wanted with the 3LT, but unfortunately options weren't ala carte, so I couldn't just order that

So what is needed to do it?

btw, I have already have removed the stock stereo, and have the pac-pio steereing wheel module sitting in my tool box. Would I basically just need the buttons, and a bit of primary wire to connect to the interface?

I and not wiring to a stock set up, and the pioneer steering wheel interface is a direct plug into the D3

If your aftermarket stereo has a compatable remote, this option might work for you: http://www.tune-town.com/cars/stuff/steering_wheel.htm

Sorry Jimmy, but I've yet to see where anyone has. Remember, the C6 is only in it's 4th model year so it's still new, and steering wheel controls have only been available for '07 & '08. Even then they're a high trim level option that alot of guys don't want to shell out for, much like yourself. So there's not a lot of them out there and they're still under warranty, which means guys don't want to hack 'em up.

You also have to remember the demographic for NEW Vettes, of which you are not typcial! It's dominated by empty nesters who are re-entering the sports car market now that the kids are gone. This isn't a demographic that's likely willing to hack up their steering wheel. It's when they become used cars, lease turn-ins, where the price is down and younger guys get their hands on 'em is when you'll start to see that stuff. I'm not an empty-nester, but steering wheel controls just aren't important enough to me to bother when the stereo is about 6" from my hand on the wheel.

Don't think you're gonna find much help here... maybe contact Gene Culley @ GMPartshouse.com and see if he can dig up component pieces for you. And if you're going to tackle this and other projects along these lines, get yourself a set of service manuals, they're invaluable when you start diggging in. Good luck!

good points.

I actually called up a local junk yard, and the guy has a nice wrecked one on the lot.......and it has the controls. The airbag has been deployed, so i may be able to work a deal...........it also has HUD, which I may even take, and try to make my own of that.

as for the controls, they are really only that new in vettes? My SS had them, and I actually loved them (first car with it)

my search will continue....
