This is gonna seem so obvious to some, but after changing out my factory speakers to BA's in the doors and Infinity's in the rear, my factory Blose still sounded like it was underwater.
I play 95% of my music through my Ipod and finally got tired. I took off the Sound Check, and went into the EQ and used Treble Boost. Now my ears are somewhat happy. I can actually get decent volume and hear the highs. It actually made a big difference.
I'm still searching for someone who makes an in-line amp that goes through the Ipod docking port.
I've never seen one, can't imagine there is one either, since anything (except the ipod > blose adapter apparently) that uses the ipod specific cable is usually level-matched to the ipod already.

You don't say much about your setup so I might not understand what you're doing. If a simple treble boost did what you were looking for, why not just do it on the Blose and leave the EQ on the iPod alone?

I'm running the stock Nav with the lockpick Ipod adapter. I tried the increase in treble on the Bose system, but the Ipod EQ seems to have a better effect.
Anyway, it works for me.
