I have an '85 with the Bose system. The original head unit worked okay and all speakers worked. I purchased a Pioneer head unit and the proper interface and even though it is wired exactly as it is supposed to be I have no sound from the front speakers. I have power to the amps but no sound. If I turn the volume up all the way then I will get sound but it stops as soon as I back off the volume. Also the left front speaker will work while the antenna is going up but quits as soon as the antenna stops. I've been fighting this for three days, anybody ever run into this?
I would check to make sure all the conections are solid, just take your time and recheck everything. If that doesn't work, call the place you bought the deck from and tell them what it's doing, it could be your interface is bad/wrong.
I guess you bought it from MAM or Ecklers, right?

No, I bought from a dealer right here in town and he's the one who has been helping me try to figure this mess out. I'm starting to wonder about the interface but it included specific instructions for my year Vette with the Bose system. The dealer has done quite a few Vettes before and he is stumped too.
First off im in dekalb so im kinda of local to you, if you need some hands on help. The c4s are a very touch system, is your adapter hooked up to the speaker level outs or the rca outs on your radio
Might I suggest spending 150-200 dollars on new speakers and ditching the bose and having better sound as well

Thanks for the offer of help, I may need it. The adapter is hooked to the speaker outs which is the only instructions the Scosche interface had.
I am already about half way to ditching the Bose but since I just redid all the interior I'm a bit hesitant to tear it apart to get to the rear speaker wires.
The Bose speakers take their power from the antenna power lead from your head unit. Just for grins, hook up the power antenna lead to the 12v source and see what happens. I had to do that on my C4.
Ill try to do some digging for you tomorrow and see what I can come up with.
Running wires to the back is actually really easy your interior wont get hurt, on a sidenote techincally you dont have to run new wires you can use the old. You just bypass the bose amp

Now that is good news! I thank you. First thing I'm going to do is see if I can eliminate the interface since I'm positive this is where the problem lies. If that doesn't work then it's bye bye Bose and since I don't need to run new wires that will be a cinch. You've been very helpful on this, if I can ever help you just ask.
PM me for more info and Ill give you my cell number to help you out a bit.
Basically pull that bose bypass harness bs out of the car and run the speaker wires straight from the radio to the factor harness matching the colors.
I lied you have to do a rewire, the bose system has some commons tied together which wouldnt work right. Let me know if you need a hand and I can come out and help ya out
When bypassing the bose amps etc you do need to replace the speakers. Depending on your budget and how big of a rush you are in a nice upgrade are polks. The rears are 6x9 and the fronts with an adapter plate will take a 5.25". I would hop on ebay and pick up a pair of db521 and db691 or if you are uncomofortable with ebay I can link you to some places that have decent prices on them. Otherwise for less money you can pick up some pioneers that will still smoke the factory speakers.

I didn't even have a chance to look at it today. The guy who sold me the equipment is coming to my place tomorrow to see what he can do for me. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks again.
Problem solved, it was the interface, the installer put a totally different one in there and it works like a charm. I want to thank everyone who tried to help, I hope I can do the same for you sometime. Pentavolvo, if you are ever going to be in my area, pm me and I'll buy coffee. I'll do the same if I ever come your way.
