Battery cable removal
I am in the prep stage of a avic Z2 install. I need to remove the negative battery lead from the battery.
Can I leave my battery charger on the battery while the negative lead is removed? It seams that my battery gets very week very fast when the car is not in use. Any problems with this? Thanks, Mark

I have had my negative cable off in my car for 5 weeks while I do various mods including a new sound system. I keep a CTEK 3300 charger connected to the battery while doing all the work. When you need power to test something it is easy to remove the neg charging cable and slip on the neg battery cable to do your check. When done with the check I switch back. Battery has a full charge all the time doing it this way.
