With all due respect to my Corvette brothers I must say that anything that needlessly restricts a driver's view represents a safety hazard. It is not necessary to mount a RD below the mirror. This position also is more inviting to thieves than a behind-the-tint mount. Granted, the tint will compromise laser signal detection but a RD offers very little defense against laser anyway. my .02

I just mounted mine on passenger side, to the right of the mirror at the top of the windshield. People can't see it from outside the car and also cops can't see it when you drive by them.
I also installed the V1 remote display in my ashtray.
