Need Help With C5 Bose Upgrade
What is the best way to wire in an amp? Can I tap the rear speaker inputs or do I need to get an adapter? If I need an adapter, which one do I get and where do I get it from?
I'm planning to add 2-8" speakers to the side rear storage covers in my 01 coupe. I'm planning on putting the amp and woofer in the center compartment, mounting the sub in the compartment cover and the amp inside the compartment.
Basically what I'm asking is how do I install and wire an amp to the existing Bose system? I'm not sure if I need a wiring adapter, or which wiring adapter works best, or where to find one. Thanks for any guidance. Jeff
you CAN NOT tap at the rear speakers the lows arent there. PACAOEMVET1 google it
The easiest way would be to buy a PAC AOEM-Vet1 to get the audio signals to your amp, then tap into the OEM amp power circuit to use it as the trigger for your aftermarket amp (to retain RAP). Check out my RAP how to in post #9 of the C5 Audio FAQ thread.
Just want to see if I am doing this ok. On a Z2 HU. The Pac OEM1 the pin connectors to the factory radio connectors seam to be just plug & play.
On my power lead for the HU I have 4 pairs of colored wires, 8 total. I connect these same colors to the Pac wire colors and and just leave the remaining 10 wires alone. Does this sound correct? Thanks, Mark
