ok, just hung up with Kenwood themselves to verify. I was told by Kenwood that it is not an official recall, but it is a software update. Call it what you want, but Kenwood said that there is no dealer at this time that has the updated units, and that they are waiting for all of them to be returned. They said it is a 5 day turnaround.
Thats right guys, I heard that from my rep today that the new 8120 is having some software issues and are working on getting it fixed. Don't know the release date of the newly updated units, but will keep everyone updated as I hear something.
Yeah, Kenwood told me a 5 day turnaround. I am assuming that is just in-house, and does not include shipping. Sounds like a 2 week delay, but man that unit sure looks worth it!
