Default C6 amp options

Almost every other customer has asked what amplifier will fit in the C6 and where. There are quite a few small amplifiers that are starting to hit the market and here is one that has gotten great reviews from the few top shops that have gotten their hands on them:

Other small amps that have clean output and pack a punch?

The two most commonly seen are the Alpine PDX series and JL's upcoming response to those, not sure of the model numbers. I have a PDX-4.150 tha t I used in my C6 until recently, when I replaced with an Xtant X604. The PDX are very solid performers and it's hard to beat the package size. The Alpines are class D and their digital circuitry makes them extremely flexible in that they deliver the same rated power from 4 ohms all the way down to 1. I have absolutely no qualms with using them, particularly for sub amps(there's a 1.600 and I think a 1.1000 available) but for driving primary speakers I prefer the sound of a traditional class A/B amp, just warmer to my ears. Strictly personal preference there. JL's look like they're going to have the same sort of form factor and flexibility.

The nice thing about these amps is you can stuff 'em in one of the cubbies. They not only fit, but they don't run all that hot so you don't have to worry much about them If you install more than one in a cubby I'd vent for sure. One of the guys at PFYC had a custom cubby cover done for his car and said it would be fairly easy to get more.

I'll be going with the ID V3 Sub in your box soon and you recommended me this amp. Can't wait to finally pull the trigger just getting some loose ends taken care of with the D3 then I'll be ready but I called Arc Audio and they quoted $329 shipped.

I use the full size KS amps... the new g/h line. Super power hungry, nice sounding amps though.

given thought to teh minis... One each for my mids, one for my tweeters, one for my subs, would look really rad...

Zeff said the mini runs at 80% efficiency at full tilt (this is third person, though). Can't wait to see the reviews for all the tech....

Nice! I'd be surprised if the full size KS are even as efficient as typical class a/b.
