Default Optimal Amp settings

Here is what I got:

Alpine PDX 4.150 amplifier powering>> JL ZR 650 CSI speakers & 1 JL Sub 10W3V3

AMP Setting options:

Gain range: Min - 0.5v - Max
Filter: Off LP HP
Crossover 30-400 HZ

1) What would be the ideal range for the speakers and for the sub?
2) There is also an option for input channel: 1+3/2+4, 3/4, 1/2. Would 1+3/2+4 be my route?

Current wire setup:

Channel 1 & 2 (JL Speakers)

Channel 3 & 4 (1 sub)- bridged

Thanks..

Also, the JL speakers have their own crossover that controls the woofer and tweets.

There is settings for both of them. I tried adjusting the tweeter & woofer, but I couldn't really tell the difference in sound. Should I just keep the stock settings. I guess I don't have the ear for it yet, but is there something I should be looking for?

i assume you have stock radio. id start with doing HP on the speakers and LP on the sub and setting them both at 80hz. From there you need to adjust the gain to match your radio

Thanks for the link. I am going to try out that strategy.

Stock radio. Does the speakers have to be set to HP, since they have their own crossover?

At 80 HZ, the sub will just play below that freq, which seems low, the bass does not hit much on the typical songs. When I set it higher, it gives more bass, obviously to the higher freq. But if I kept it at a higher freq, would there be more distortion at higher volumes?

Higher setting = more distortion basically. IMO 80hz should be plenty, i wouldnt go any higher then 100 at an absolute max. I would highpass those speakers because that way they arent trying to play as much of the lows. the crossover they have just puts the highs to the tweets and not the mid woofer basically
