I am setting the amps for some new speakers. I did a lot of reading and found that setting the amp requires me to turn the radio to 3/4 power. How can I tell when the radio is at 3/4 power. Since it does not have any numbers to indicate what volume it is currently on.
this isnt a perfect science its the stock headunti for christ sake. spin the **** aroudn a few times it will be maxed out and back it off a bit. you are making this way harder then it is
honestly if this is confusing you maybe you should be having someone else set your gains
Greg is being a little harsh, i think its cause he's being tired and crabby. Try not to take any offense to it. but you're gonna have to do a little trial and error with this one. The **** being the way it is, your gonna have to just turn your gains down all the way, then turn the volume all the way up, then try to find out where the halfway is, volume wise. Then turn it up a little bit and shoot for 3/4 that way. Unfortunately the **** and no volume number on the HU makes this harder.

That is why I try to do things myself, why pay someone else.
you will need to be listining to the raido when you set the gains. start car turn on radio, turn it up loud but not hearing distortion and set the gain. dosn't seem too hard does it?
After fooling around and waking the dead ( I go to a cemetery to crank and tune it, not bothering anyone )
The stock radio makes full power in one complete circle. So if I draw a line on the ****, one 360 is full power.
Just in case anyone else needs to know.
