I just installed a d3 and have an issue. I only have the rear speakers hooked up right now (making templates for the components up front). I ran regular speaker wires to the rears. Every once in a while, the speakers cut out for a couple seconds, then come back on. This happens while playing music or dvd's. Any ideas??
1) Solid RCA connection from HU to Amp
2) Solid Speaker connection from Amp to speaker
3) Make sure your ground is solid
4) Make sure all power connections are solid
5) Check Amp settings, is gain too high?
What are Amp and speaker specs (watts)?
Is there a cross over in the equation?
I am not running an amp to them....they are factory bose. I am using them to make sure everything is working correctly. So basically I eliminated everything from 805Z06 except for the ground. And I don't think it is that because the hu doesn't go off, just the speakers. As for a loose wire, how would this make them both go out? I'm open to all ideas.
Yes, I cut the factory plug off, spliced the wires to the heavier wire I ran from the head unit, then plugged them into the speakers. What are these speakers rated at? I a little lost??
No, it doesn't cut out at high volume.....but they sound like ****, so I don't leave them cranked......hoping to get the components in this week possibly...making the templates right now.
