Getting static from component tweeter...

Getting static from component tweeter...
Not in my car, but my wife's Mazda3.
They are Focal components, and as far as I know the speakers are fine. I really doubt they've been blown or anything like that.
I also thought it might be the digital files having some kind of distortion on them in the conversion process getting them on the iPod, but I've tried the same iPod in my car and don't get the static.
I took a look at the tweeter myself and it looks like the wiring is in tact, so I can't really tell if there's some kind of loose connection or whatever.
Anyways, I'm no expert, but I was curious if anyone might have some tips. I might just take it to a shop and ask them to take a look. However, my only concern is that they tell me I need new speakers, blah blah when it could be something simple.

you should swap RCAs left and right to see if the problem moves. 
(never swap ANYTHING when there is power on the system, though)
every time ive had static in a tweeter though, it was just a bad connection.
