I am replacing all the Bose Stuff. I have removed the door speakers and amp box and have installed conventional speakers in there. I am using the existing wiring going to them, as I don't even want to think of how to run new wiring to that area.
Question is, what do I do about the upper speakers in the dash? Are they wired in parallel with the door speakers somehow that may affect the resistance of the circuit. Should I disconnect them at the speakers? How do I get access to them if so? I tried prying up on the covers and they dont seem to just pop out.
On the Bose systems, the grills in the dash are blanks. There are no speakers or wires there. If you want to install speakers there, you will have to cut or drill holes in the grills and re-cover them. To get the grills out, you have to remove the dash pad. The grills are held to the dash pad by 3 screws each from the bottom side.
Any advise on running a power cable for an amp from the battery through the firewall and to the very back of the storage area? Anyone know the best place to come through the firewall?
