Default Nav System Install Questions

Since many of you have already done this install and have done beautiful work doing so, maybe someone can give me some clarification on the parking switch?

Both my HU and the Nav moduale have parking brake switch leads. My question would be if I leafve them un connected will the system still operate normally? Do I have to hook them up? Can it be "worked around"

Thansk for any help you can give!

Humm, Its kenwood KVT-512 with the kenwood KNA-G510 nav unit. Both have a light green lead labeled park switch. Im assumingthis is to eliminate function if the brake is not on.
