Part 2

I am looking at some new audio equipment for my C4 coupe. I have already bought an Eclipse CD4000 HU, an Arc Audio KAR600.4 amp and I will use Bob’s recommendation on the 8” subs/midbass for the rear in part 1. I am considering a set of Rainbow speakers, either the Soundline SLC 265 (2 Way), or the SLC 365 (three way). How I am going to mount the 3 way system in my car, I don’t know, but Andy B did it, so I guess I can. I heard a set of Rainbows a couple of months ago and liked them, but it was only for a few minutes. What do you guys think of the Rainbows? I don’t want to buy something that I am going to hate in a few weeks. I know everyone says buy Focals, but the set I listened to sounded to "bright".
I listen to mostly Blues, and some Rock, a lot of Sirius (14 and 74).

Thanks, Randy

I think their products are ridiculously overpriced (as is the case with anything in car audio). I can't say I've heard them firsthand, but I can say that there's no possible justification for some of their prices.

In the range you're looking at, I'd suggest Focal TN52-based Polyglass 2-ways. Don't bother with a 3-way in your car. 3-way systems are not inherently better than 2-way systems, and just because you can get them squeezed in somehow doesn't mean they'll sound better.
