Speaker sizes
IM replacing all the mids in my 85 and was needing the sizes
i know in the hatch they can be 6x9s
and i think the doors are 4's
Whats in the dash?
if anything i have is wrong feel free to correct me

I have an original Bose system on my L86 Coupe, and a very good friend owned an original 88 Coupe, again with Bose. Both had/have only the 4 Bose -system speakers! If there are speakers in the dash top of an early C4's, they are not part of the Bose option! Ciao.

Bose speakers are 4". After replacing all my amps the last two years I just emailed Bose, $40 for each 1 Omh 4" speaker just FYI
For a state of the art system you'd thing some engineer would have realized the speaker in the dash top bouncing off the windshield had a better chance deliveing sounf to the ears vs door speakers directed at your ankles, especially with the targar off.

Keep in mind that if you have a Bose system the speakers in the door and in the rear can't be replaced with aftermarket speakers. You'll have to change out the radio too. Bose system needs Bose speakers.

i am gettin a Boss HU and Quantum mids throughout
i just had to make sure i had all the sizes right before ordering
Old BOSE is crap. New BOSE is amazing

Don't waste your time putting speakers in the dash. They would have to be extremely shallow and would probably sound like $hit.
6 1/2'' is easily done in the doors if you make a mount.

I think it would be a good idea if you went by how the audio equipment you are buying sounds, not by what color it is. Looking cool is great, but sounding cool is where its at.
BTW, if you are going w/ subs, why not put the in place of the rear speakers? It will sound better, and will be steath=no one breaking into your car.

BTW, part 2: Most good head units will change color, my Eclipse CD2000 matches the orange color of my dash lights perfectly.

the 6x9 are 100 but i am gettig them at closeout for 42 or so
they look great AND sound great
and i want the 2 L7s in the storange compartments
