Default POLL: Which component system for under $200?

Ok after virtually living on this forum for the past week reading and researching lots of great info, shopping around, I've set my budget and narrowed down my choices to these 3 component sets.

These will be the fronts in a '96 and amped. I am mainly after SQ for a broad range of music, from drum&bass to bluegrass. Opting for silk tweets.

Please let me know which of these you would choose, and if there's something I might be missing

EDI6000s are backordered FYI. Im not a big focal fan but I love DLS they got my vote

Also fyi Polk Momo components fall into this price range and are very nice id consider them

I sent Elemental Designs an e-mail late last week and they said that the EDi 6000s v2 components will not be available for another 2 months. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

I'm in the same boat as you. I am trying to pick my system components and have a similar ~$200 budget as well. I really wanted the JL C5-650 but just can't justify the cost at this point.

I have been looking at the Polk DB6501 ($130 on the auction site) as well as the Polk Momo MMC6500 ($160). I haven't seen either of these shot down by the more knowledgeable members here in my many searches.

DBs are a great budget set and the MOMOs at the price point are killer. Go with the MOMOs IMO you wont be disapointed. Also fyi woofersetc has some killer pricing on CDT components. The CDT CL's are similar to EDI6000s

Ive been running the DB's in my DD for a while and love em

I vote for the Polks also. They are a very nice sounding speaker for the money, IMHO.

I would choose the focals, for a brighter more "airy" sound, or the DLS for a smoother sound.

Thanks for the info and the heads-up! I had emailed ED last week but so far got no response.

I looked at the Momos too but I really don't like the tacky styling. If I don't have to use the speaker covers, will probably be ok. SQ is way more important tho

I wasn't sure if the Focal 'starter set' would be decent
