Are there any significant differences between the Pioneer and the new Kenwood 8120? I have narrowed my search down to these two but cannot decide or get any real good info on which one would suit me better.
if bypassed you wont have to... id assume there is a bypass for it as there has been for all previous model pioneers
on the pioneer navi units unless its new for this year its not as simple as grounding the parking break wire or engaging the parking break because the unit know via gps once you exceed a few miles per hour and locks you out unless you do the proper bypass
My understanding unofficially is you can do the same mod as the previous units to bypass the protection. Of course, the voice recognition helps on the nav side of things too.
These units also have MSN Direct and GOOG411 and Parrot, which I do not believe the Kenwood units have.

So you can "say" an address and the unit plots the point without typing it in? If so that is a big plus.
My AVIC F700BT has some sort of bypass because I can watch video and enter NAV addresses while driving. I don't though, the wifey does, but they didn't charge me extra for it so I'm assuming it was fairly straightforward.
