Frame. Right rear wheel well. Punched out of the right rear cubby and grabbed this ground lug by the upper A-arm:

There is also a ground in the passenger side B-Pillar, but I haven't used it.

There are probably more pix in the C5 FAQ at the top of the Forum.

Don't have a pic, but the rear left Passenger seat bolt. Can's miss it. It's really easy and really close, and really hidden. A+ in my book.

It's probably better to sand, but it's not necessary. It's important to put the ring terminal between the rail and the bolt, not below the rail.

Yep, on top of the rail ... so rail, terminal, then bolt.

Also, did you just screw down on the bare wire? You should think about getting a ring terminal for that...

Yes, the ground is going to a distribution block. The block is for + and -

It isn't bolted down bare wire. It is 0/1 gauge and the grounding terminal is bolted to the seat belt bolt. I know there are a few stray wires sticking out. I lost the hex head screw that is supposed to secure down the wire. So I went to home depot and bought a bolt that fit the hole. So I installed it in the Home Depot parking lot. Where could I find a little hex head screw to replace the original?

A ring terminal wouldn't have near the contact patch of the grounding terminal.

IMHO, a ring terminal would work fine. That's what I'm using, though I'm only running about 500w RMS through my amp.

Z28Johnny: thanks for the clarification. Looks good!

ring is definitely fine, I just happened to have the small block.

I've always read that you want to keep your grounding cable around 3 ft long. You'd probably be ok, but you'd be around 8 feet after routing it.

There is a thread somewhere on here that shows a grommet in the rear that you can go through without drilling and connect... that may be a better option.

Well, if thats a C5 corvette you are working on there, the oem ground point is about a foot towards the rear of the vehicle under the seat belt tensioner interior piece, on the pillar.

The interior piece is a little tricky to get off (no tools needed) you just pop the rocker panel cover off, then pop the tensioner piece off (but it slides under the piece above (you will see what I mean) so its a bit of a pain to get off and back on. But definitly doable. Thats where I grabbed the ground for my computer.

Yep ... still have the setup and love it. I went from having a partition (no sub), partition and sub (center compartment) to this. Used 3 Ed SQ10's to minimize the protrusion in the trunk.
