AVIC F700BT Installed!
The iphone BT and address book synced with the unit perfectly and yes I can access my Nav input while driving. I actually bought a ipod classic 80GB for videos and mp3s and had the ipod video cable wired to the glovebox. As a note, you will want the video cable for future use as they will have to pull the entire unit if you want to upgrade later. Trust me, it's worth it .
Once my iphone address book was sync'd i was able to call by voice recognition with no problems at all . Not only that, but automatic BT synching works seamlessly whenever I get close to the car when it's running. Careful to note that you cannot here your phone ringing if you stand outside your car if sync'd automatically, unless you have the top off .
Video playback using my ipod classic worked with no problems and the album cover art was MUCH better than with the iphone. The voice regonition for the ipod controls worked seamlessly as well.
Overall I am very happy with this unit. I don't see much use in getting anything over the F700BT since you can get digital video/movies/etc through your ipod in the glovebox. Basically, you can buy a F90BT for $1200, or you can buy a F700BT and 80GB ipod classic for about $1000 and have a kicka$$ system, with a 80GB HDD, for cheaper. I will post pics after the Corvette club meeeting tomorrow...I promise
.P.s. I wanted to mention that the Maps need to be updated and my stock speakers sound better than with the factory HU...go figure.
This shows where I had them put the ipod video adapter so I could connect an 80GB ipod video and not worry about it
This is my startup screen, which is a pic from the AVIC background thread.
The home screen
Ipod music screen with album art
Ipod video screen with watching Sting watch me in his desert rose video
One thing I noticed is that the screen resolution of this HU is sooo much better than the older AVICs because the C6 much smaller. I am going to make a 2592 x 1944 pixel C6 logo image in photoshop when I get to work tomorrow. That should allow the C6 logo wings to touch each side of the screen

Specific issues were:\
unit takes to long to boot up.
That the person you are on the phone with can NOT understand what you are saying...very poor audio.
Video and navigation both freeze up often and unexplained.
Please after owning for a month please set the record strait. Thanks R/ Al
