I replaced my factory BOSE with an aftermarket. I first installed it and I had zero sound, radio nor CD. I then came in and read the faq section and found out the pink wire needed to be supplied with power. I added the pink wire and I now have sound. I don't however have power to the electric antenna? I re-installed the old Bose and the power antenna worked fine? any ideas what I now need to do to get this done?
I'm also wondering how I can simply add new speakers? I pulled one of the BOSE speakers and there is four wires power+ground+speaker wires. I tried simply putting a different speaker on the speaker wires and no sound came out. WHat needs to be done to bypass this so aftermarket speakers work w/o rewiring the whole thing? or can it be done.
I appreciate the help fellows...I love my new found Vette...I just wish I could get some decent tunes in it.....
There are 2 pink wires, one was for the amp relay and the other for antenna relay. Your after market head unit should have both these outputs.
If your not going to use an amp, I would use the existing wiring and replace the speakers. You will need to make a mount for door speakers, 6x9's will drop into the rear compartments.
thanks for the info...can the bose system speakers be used or do I have to rewire the whole system? I have noticed it has 4 wires though I guess its a power wire a ground and the speaker wires?...

You can buy an adapter and use the existing Bose amps/speakers, as long as they are in good working order.
Sosche and others, make these adapters. A search of the archives should reveal a part #.
