but to do this i would have to relocate my a/c system. i was thinking about putting it in the center glove box, all that would have to be done is extend the plug in and i would probably get someone to make it flushed into it. does this seem do-able, and i dont wonna put in a slide out screen b/c i would punch it everytime i shifted. i would love to hear some opinions.
Uh, I would personally go with something name-brand. That looks like a Pioneer AVIC-Z1/2/3, but the user interface and software probably sucks. I picked one up for $750, which is much more than $300, but if $300 gets you crap, then....
Also, I'm assuming you have an early C4? A double-din will slide right in to the later interior. The trim bezel requires some finessing...but it fits.

I received the 6.5" model as a Christmas present. It fit in my 95 but it took a good bit of cutting the console. I could have cut the rear support behind the radio to get it to slide in further for a better fit. I didn't want to cut it though so I removed more from the front console. I still need to pull it out again and finish painting the console. Personally I'd rather spend my money on performance parts than high dollar audio. The only complaint I have so far is that there are no visualizations or spectrum analyzer when playing from my sd cards. I'm going to try to mix my mp3's with video or visualizations then burn to dvd.
