I've done a little searching and haven't came up with too much
Well I noticed today that the pass side Door woofer is dead on my 02 coupe
I read to stay with coaxial speakers if staying with that factory head unit which I am. I've read all sorts of posts in regards to replacing the 3.5s in the front and the 6.5s in the rear on the coupes but nothing about a dead woofer in the doors???
I thought I read a post about there being amped 8" woofers in the door?
Do I need to obtain another factory woofer and if so where? I want to keep this as simple as possible
Sometimes it is just the flex wire from the cone to the terminal and if you can solder, you can replace it with a bit of thin braided copper and some glue.
This is the cheapo fix!
You might have a bad connection in the amplifier board but I doubt it.
I take it you have a BOSE system.
The woofer should be pretty obvious, its right behind the screen in the door (lower front).
Oh I was thinking behind the screen was maybe the 3.5 and tweeter but that would make sense. I haven't seen any pics posted of the actual sub in the door, always the other speakers. Hmmm...
Will any 8" subwoofer do?
I'm wondering if there are speaker plates required like there are if your wanting to replace the 3.5 with aftermarket
I must be sounding dumb but the only assembly I'm seeing is the 3.5 speaker and tweeter with the little bose amp.
I'm failing to see this 8" inch subwoofer???
I've haven't removed the door panel to see for myself but is there even a 8" sub in there ???? or maybe I misunderstood from all the threads I've been reading

Ok guys, my apologies for being so hard headed... When I was looking at the assembly I THOUGHT I was looking at a 3.5 and tweeter
instead of the 3.5 and the 8" woofer!
So I removed the pass door panel, no problems.
I removed the assembly and discovered if I apply the slightest pressure to the center of the back of the sub it hits just fine. My question is this fixable?
And if this is not fixable what would be my most cost efficient course of action be? Maybe just replace the 3.5s for boston acoustics or polk audio? suggestions?
I see the speaker plates for sale on the forum are setup for a 6.5, so I'd be going from a 8" sub down to a 6.5 coaxial speaker? Wouldn't I be losing bass?
Also worried about wiring up a 6.5 and a tweeter.... I want to stay as simple as possible so that means no amps
Any input is greatly apprteciated!

Are there any write ups that I'm missing on how to wire up a component 6.5 and a tweeter? Can this all be done in the door panel or is more involved because I don't want to go any further than the inners of the door panel
OR a write up for just installing say a coaxial setup?
I'm thinking bout ditching the stock setup.
I see there are 8 wires that go into the factory harness so I'm wondering how all those would wire up
Well I haven't removed the 8" sub from its bracket, but the connections to the sub are visible right on top But I will go back out and give it another look over

Wiggle those connections.
Also, I believe the top connection go to the voicecoil via rivets and the thin flex at the rear.
I assume that when your pushing on the speaker your warping the cabinet frame enough to twist the amplifier into making contact.
Purely assumption on my part, but it sure doesn't sound like the voicecoil is bad.
